The Komen Firm provides our clients with virtual or in person estate planning services. If you prefer, we have the processes and technology in place to meet almost every essential estate planning need without any need to step into our office.

We know that sometimes you are too busy to meet with us in person. You are out enjoying life and do not want the planning of your estate to take you away from that. Through phone, email, and video conferencing, we will help you to plan your estate or make alterations to your current plan, from anywhere in the world.

There is no reason, just because you cannot attend our office in person, that you should put off your estate planning. The Komen Firm is able to carry out estate planning to Washington residents virtually. Washington State lawmakers passed the Uniform Washington Electronic Wills Act (UEWA) effective January 1, 2022, that allows testators to create, sign, and store their wills electronically. Further, in March of 2024, the Uniform Electronic Estate Planning Documents Act (The Act) was adopted. The Act facilitates the electronic signing of various estate planning documents not covered by UEWA such as trust agreements, powers of attorney, healthcare directives, and guardian nominations. Therefore, nearly all of your estate planning can be designed and implemented from the comfort of your own home or wherever life takes you!

Please note, his is a very new area of law and there are unique requirements and procedures that must be followed to ensure compliance with UWEA and The Act. It is important to speak to an attorney to guide you through the specific legal and regulatory framework.
